INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYERS
Support for our Employers
Bridges values the input of our employer partners and so to make the relationship even more productive we can offer you support in a number of ways.
The support can be one to one or in groups, as more formal training, or providing you with facts sheets and literature for you to read (see Bridges Publications).
Support can be tailored to your own requirements and, where it is necessary, training to set up a placement or ensure compliance. Most of our training for host employers is free.
Setting up a placement
- We can help you assess what you have to offer and if your business is suitable
- We can advise on good placement activities and give examples of past successful interventions
- We can support your staff who will be mentoring and supporting clients prepare for that
- Job coaching, particularly useful for a small business, where a Bridges staff member learns the placement first then accompanies the client for a few days at the beginning to induct them not tying up your staff resources
Governance and Compliance
- We appreciate that some employers are cautious when taking people from overseas into their workplace either on placements or as employees. Often they are concerned that they are contravening immigration rules. Bridges will always make sure that anyone you engage with is legally entitled to be on your premises but we can also provide information or training on the various immigration statuses and the rights and responsibilities that go along with them.
