INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYERS
Community Benefits clauses have been introduced into high value, publically funded projects, to ensure that the community receives best value for money from the investment. This basically means ensuring that there are opportunities for "new entrants" to the job market to ensure a lasting legacy. The "new entrants" traditionally come from those furthest from the labour market and usually comprise a combination of new apprenticeships, work placements and permanent positions.
Bridges' clients represent one of the target groups for Community Benefits, and we have successfully engaged with contractors on both the Veledrome and the Athletes’ Village for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and the redevelopment of the Southern General Hospital in the South West of Glasgow.
As Community Benefits clauses are likely to become more prevalent in the coming years - with more public sector projects adopting these clauses - it makes sense to talk to us to see what we can offer to help meet the average 10% of your workforces through the "new entrants" route.
Whether you are new to tendering in Scotland or new to Community Benefits’ clauses or a company with experience in this field, Bridges is able to suggest numerous ways to engage with our client group. We are also able, on a paid consultancy basis, to help you put together a full Community Benefit package by linking you with other agencies who deal with others far from the labour market. This is proving to be of particular interest to companies new to tendering in Scotland.
