Have you qualified as a Nurse outside the UK?


To work in the UK as a nurse must register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).


We can help!


Bridges Programmes, in partnership with University of the West of Scotland, City of Glasgow College, Glasgow Clyde College and Live Language  can support and provide training during this 2-part application process, which is:


 1 Test of competence:

Part one – a computer based multiple-choice examination which will be accessible in many countries around the world for applicants to access in their home countries.

Part two – a practical objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) which will always be held in the UK.

You'll need to pass both parts of the test before you can complete your registration application.



2 English language ability - IELTS / OET

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is accepted by the NMC whe you achieve:

-an overall score of at least 7

-at least 6.5 in the writing section and at least 7 in the reading, listening and speaking sections

The OET (Occupational English Test) is accepted by the Nurses and Midwifery Council (NMC) The OET examination certificate must confirm you achieved:

-at least a grade C+ in the writing section 
-at least a grade B in the reading, listening and speaking sections.To apply to register on our programme please click below.
