The Bridges Programmes works in partnership with a wide variety of agencies, to develop services which meet the employment and training needs of refugees within Scotland. We are deeply committed to working in collaboration, and strongly believe that the best solutions to difficult problems are collective solutions. These are some of the partnerships which we are involved in:

Our Employers: Our most important partnerships are with our participating emloyers. We have worked with over 100 companies in the last 5 years across the public and private and third sectors. A list of some of our partner companies is at the bottom of this page.

Refugees Into Teaching Scotland (RITeS) offers a friendly support and advice service for refugees and asylum seekers holding teaching qualifications who would like to return to teaching. To be a teacher in Scotland you need to be registered with The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). RITeS helps refugee teachers with the registration process and advises them on what they need for registration. They also give advice and provide courses about teaching in Scotland including the curriculum, methods of teaching and classroom management. You can find more about RITeS by telephoning Stewart Simpson on (0141) 950 3673 or e-mailing stewart.f.simpson@strath.ac.uk . Bridges works with RITeS to arrange work placements for their clients within schools and related educational establishments and projects.

The Scottish Refugee Health Professionals Forum is a Partnership of Organisations dedicated to supporting the integration of refugee healthcare professionals into Scotland. Regular meetings are held to share experience and discuss common areas of interest. A number of successful initiatives have been developed.
